5-Mile Trail Run for Healthier Babies and 1-Mile Family Loop

The March of Dimes 5-Mile Trail Run for Healthier Babies and the 1-Mile Family Loop will be held Saturday, November 6, and will take participants along the Yellow Trail at Gambrill State Park in Frederick, Md.


Pre-registration is required and the fee is $25 through October 4 ($15 for the Family Loop only) and $30 from October 5 through November 4 ($20 for the Family Loop only).  Registration includes a T-shirt for the first 200 registrants of the 5-Mile Trail Run only. There will be no day-of registration.


The 5-Mile Trail Run will begin at 10 a.m. and will be manually timed by the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club.  The 1-Mile Family Loop will begin at 10:15 a.m. and will not be timed.


Parking is available in the park, but car pooling is strongly encouraged.  Entry to the park is $3 per in-state vehicle and $4 per out-of-state vehicle.  Entry to the parking lot will close at 9:40 a.m.
Runners may pick up their packets from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 5, at If The Shoe Fits, 1507 West Patrick Street, Frederick, Md.

The awards presentation will be held immediately following the Trail Run race or once all award categories have been filled.  The overall winner of the 5-Mile Trail Run will win a roundtrip AirTran Airways airline ticket good for anywhere AirTran flies in the continental U.S.  Travel is valid through May 2011.  Additional small awards will be given to the top male and female runners in the following age categories: 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-plus.
