Bill Potts, the guy in the center attracting all the attention, won the swinging Bridge 35k Trail Run on December 5, 2004. This is his 3rd consecutive win in the 35k. There is also a 10 mile and 50k race.

Additional photos , not all of Bill of course, but some of our Virginia Happy Trails Running Club friends.

The Copperhead Ridge Runners got together for their 2004 Thanksgiving Day Trail Run in the hills around Crosslanes. The weather was nice and the turkey good.

They generally run Saturday at 7am, Tuesday roads at 8:30pm, Thursday at 6or 8:30pm in the woods with lights, and holidays at 8am. If you're in the Kanawha Putnam County area contact Eric Mitchell or Rick Workman.

Matt Yeager and Bill Young at Shut-in Ridge Trail Run
in North Carolina, November 6, 2004.

At mile 14 or so someone pointed out the top of Mt. Pisgah,
I thought they were lying said Bill. I had to crane my neck
way back to see the top of the mountain from 4 or 5
miles away! I thought there is no way this race can finish
on top of that. Well it did.

A beautiful fall Sunday afternoon at Summersville Lake. A 14 mile run and a cookout to boot...what fine hosts we have there in Nicholas County.

We are on Long Point. It's a 100' drop to the water, no one felt like diving today!  The lake is being lowered to winter pool level. This 6 week release creates the premier Gauley River Rafting Season.
